Pole Theatre Canada is part of the Pole Theatre World franchise. Pole Theatre is a performance based pole competition and is now the biggest pole dance competition in the world! It started in Sydney in 2013, and has run in over 25 countries around the world and counting! 

Pole Theatre was created by sisters Michelle Shimmy and Maddie Sparkle to bring their love of pole dance and performance together on stage. 
 

Pole Theatre is open to all competitors: national and international, all gender identities, and single, double, and group entries. Pole Theatre is more than a pole competition; It is an opportunity for pole performers to display their many and varied talents in the creation of a visual spectacular to thrill and inspire their audience.

The focus of this competition is the art of performance. Performers are encouraged to delve deep into their creative consciousness and envision a performance that fall under these 4 categories:

  • The category of Pole Art is for performances incorporating another style of dance (e.g. lyrical, contemporary, latin, ballet, etc.) to create a performance that is artistic in style.

  • The category of Pole Drama is for performances that tell a story. Competitors will be expected to build a clear storyline in their performance with a beginning, middle, and end.

  • The category of Pole Comedy is for performances that incorporate humorous or comedic elements. 

​​

  • The category of Pole Classique is for performances that celebrate the beauty and art of the sexy and sensual style of pole dance and striptease.
